Dr. Ashok Immanuel V completed his BSc in Physics from Loyola College, Chennai. He holds a Masters in Computer Applications and an MPhil in Computer Science. He earned his Ph.D. in Context Aware Systems (Ubiquitous Computing) at CHRIST University. Since joining the Computer Science Department in 2005, Dr. Ashok has served in multiple roles, including Coordinator of Information Technology (Software) and Coordinator of Admissions. In April 2022, he became Head of the Computer Science Department at the Central Campus. A passionate programmer, he developed scripts for Google Meet and WebEx during the pandemic, automating thousands of admission interviews. He has also contributed to developing the university's in-house ERP and introduced tablet-based admission score entries. Dr. Ashok established the Computer Science Research Centre, focusing on Artificial Intelligence, IoT, Extended Reality, and Drones. As a speaker, he has delivered numerous talks at conferences, including at the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII). He has developed various software solutions for the university, including mobile apps for exam attendance and interview score entry. His contributions have modernized several processes, including the introduction of Smart Cards and the creation of the CHRIST Programmes app.
