Dr. Reetika Syal has been an Assistant Professor in the Department of International Studies, Political Science, and History since January 2024. She holds a Ph.D. in Political Science from the Institute for Social and Economic Change, Bangalore. Dr. Syal also worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at IIT-Delhi in collaboration with Wageningen University, The Netherlands. With over 8 years of teaching experience, Dr. Syal has worked with multiple research organizations such as Centre for Public Policy Research, Lokniti, and Janaagraha. She has expertise in conducting both qualitative and quantitative studies, including large sample surveys on elections, governance, and education. Dr. Syal is a member of the Lokniti Network and has served as Karnataka co-coordinator for various democracy-related studies. She has presented her work at national and international conferences and published in academic journals and edited books. Her research interests include education, governance, civil society, state relations, and public policy. Dr. Syal has also been a resource person for Loknitis Annual Summer School on Quantitative Data Analysis for nearly a decade.
