Joel M. Jacob is an Assistant Professor of Media Studies at CHRIST (Deemed to be University). He coordinates the BA Journalism & Digital Media, English Programme at the Bangalore Central Campus. Previously, he was the Coordinator of the Center for Publications at CHRIST, overseeing international academic journals and reports. He contributed significantly to NAAC Accreditation, AICTE Registration, and Ranking Committees. Joel teaches courses in journalism, public speaking, media literacy, podcasting, and documentary production. He is involved in research and consultancy projects on training and development. He holds an MA in Mass Communication and Journalism from EFLU, Hyderabad, and an MA in Organisational Leadership and Management from Martin Luther Christian University, Shillong. Joel is currently pursuing his PhD on the creator economy?s impact on journalism and democracy. His career began as an SEO content writer, later transitioning to rural reporting. Joel is certified in coaching, storytelling, and workshop facilitation. He has conducted workshops for teachers, students, NGOs, and government officials on communication skills. Joel maintains strong networks with journalists, editors, filmmakers, and PR professionals across India.
