Dear Christites,
Welcome to the School of Arts and Humanities!
You are twice blessed!! Firstly, for having successfully secured a place at CHRIST University, a pioneer in the field of liberal education in the country; secondly, for choosing Arts and Humanities stream for furthering your educational aspirations.
I’m sure, right now you feel quite elated about your choices. In due course you would feel proud too, for having chosen this road to travel by. For here, in an environment of autonomy and inclusivity you will learn to read and interpret the world from multiple perspectives; you will develop your abilities to think critically and independently. Your exposure to the breadth, diversity and creativity of human experience will transform you into better human beings and responsible citizens. The courses and people you engage with will spur you to have deeper reflections of your responsibilities to your own self and to those around you in a society where the local, national and global needs often converge. In the process your vision of / for the world will expand. In a spirit of openness and cooperation you will learn to appreciate the value and relevance of harmonious coexistence.
The liberal education offered by the School will be an enabler in your quest to discover your true self, your strengths as well as your shortcomings. With that awareness you will feel equipped to face the challenges of life with confidence. Arts and Humanities stream is the space to be in for your Education – in its true sense.
As the Dean of the School I invite you wholeheartedly to an exciting journey that will kindle in you a lifelong interest in the study of Languages, Literatures, Philosophy, Arts, Beauty, Truth, Media, Cultures; in short, in Life and Living. Welcome on board!!
In order to encourage the students to participate in departmental activities, our university gives access to students to make use of the multiple facilities provided in the campus.

When I came to Christ University in 2010, I had a very vague sense of purpose. I was fascinated with the form of cinema, and that led me to imagine that I should work in the area of media and arts. Apart from that, I had little to no understanding of art and aesthetics be it literary, visual

One of my favourite memories at Christ was when the English Department got our class to put up a production of ‘A Streetcar Named Desire’. I was so inspired after reading 'Leaves of Grass' by Walt Whitman, that I
