CHRIST (Deemed to be University) is committed to supporting our students in every way possible to access quality education and enable a motivating environment for achieving academic excellence. In alignment with this commitment, the Office of Registrar established the Scholarship and Fellowship Support Cell in 2020.
The Cell is a single point for identifying scholarship and fellowship opportunities, disseminating information to students, supporting and guiding them in the application, and liaising with the organisations and Government departments providing scholarships and fellowships. The goal of the Cell is to facilitate maximum beneficiaries of scholarships and fellowships thereby ensuring all deserving students benefit. The Cell is managed by a Coordinator with support from staff of the Office of Grant-in-Aid, Office of Alumni Engagement, Office of Accounts, Offices of Campuses and Office of Registrar.
The Cell regularly updates students on scholarship and fellowship opportunities through email. It provides end-to-end support by disseminating information on scholarship and fellowship opportunities, guiding students through the application process, processing the applications, scholarship and fellowship grant disbursal, liaisoning with Government departments and Scholarship Grant Foundations, and resolution of issues.
The Cell also oversees applications submitted through Government platforms like the National Scholarship Portal (NSP), State Scholarship Portals (SSP) of various states, Karnataka Labour Welfare Board, e-Kalyan Jharkhand, Mukhyamantri Nishchay Swayam Sahayatha Bhata Yojna (MNSSBY) Bihar, and West Bengal Student Credit Card Scheme (WBSCC), ensuring timely approvals in coordination with relevant offices.
Christ Scholarship and Fellowship Schemes
To encourage and reward outstanding academic and extracurricular performance, and to support students from diverse socio-economic backgrounds in accessing quality holistic higher education, CHRIST (Deemed to be University) offers institutional scholarships and freeships. Scholarships are typically awarded to final-year or final-semester undergraduate and postgraduate students based on their cumulative academic performance in the previous year or semesters. However, students from other years or semesters may also be considered on a case-by-case basis, based on their application and supporting documents. The University also provides fee concessions and installment options for eligible students. New scholarships may be introduced depending on current needs.
Students who wish to apply for these benefits must submit an application in the prescribed format to their Head of Department. The Head, after reviewing the applicant’s academic performance and financial background, forwards the application to the Dean of the School, who then submits it to the Scholarship/Free Ship Award Committee. The Committee’s recommendations are sent to the Chief Finance Officer for final approval.
We request faculty, staff, students and parents, alumni/ae and all those interested in shaping the future of society through education to share information about the scholarship and fellowship opportunities available to our students.
We invite organisations, Trusts, NGOs, and individuals to contribute/institute Scholarships and Fellowships.
For information and support pertaining to the scholarships, the students can write to the Scholarship Support Cell on scholarship.support@christuniversity.in.
