Dr. Bincy Cyriac is a distinguished nuclear scientist and environmental chemist. She specializes in sustainability-focused research on nuclear and environmental chemistry. Her work involves developing eco-friendly adsorbents to separate nuclear elements from radioactive minerals and effluents. She also studies pollution in lakes and water bodies, targeting heavy metals, organic pollutants, and microplastics. Her research explores phytoremediation and bioremediation techniques for water restoration. As the coordinator of the Soil and Water Analysis Cell, she promotes sustainable water management. She guides students in water quality practices to achieve a zero-water footprint. Dr. Cyriac has over 30 years of research experience at the Atomic Minerals Directorate for Exploration and Research, under the Department of Atomic Energy, India. Dr. Cyriac is an expert in analyzing nuclear materials using techniques like ICP-MS, ICP-AES, AAS, WD-XRF, UV-visible spectrometry, and fluorimetry. She is a life member of the Indian Society of Analytical Chemists and continues to contribute significantly to nuclear chemistry and environmental sustainability.
