Anna Luisa Spagna is an Assistant Professor in Dance and Dance Movement Therapy at Christ University. She has held this position since 2022. She is also a certified Dance Movement Therapist. Anna holds a Master?s Degree in Education from the University of Salento, Italy. She completed a three-year Post Graduate Diploma in Dance Movement Therapy from the International School Danzare le Origini in Rome. As a versatile dancer, Anna blends dance with pedagogy, therapy, and healing. She trained in ballet, Modern dance, Odissi, and traditional Indian dance, Seraikella Chhau. Currently, she is training in Nangiarkoothu, an ancient Sanskrit theatre art form from Kerala. Anna has created and presented several performances in international festivals as a choreographer. She is the author of two books on Indian dance and culture. Internationally renowned, she is recognized for her reconstruction of the Yogini of the Hirapur temple. She has also developed the Hirapur Oracle cards and the accompanying oracle, Songs of the Yogini.
