Dr. Joice Steffi Y is an Assistant Professor in Psychology at Christ University. She earned her MPhil and PhD in Psychiatric Social Work from NIMHANS. Her research and academic work focus on disability studies and educational psychology. Before academia, she worked as a Research Assistant on an ICMR-funded project. This role explored mental health challenges among adolescents with disabilities. Her clinical expertise stems from her tenure at NIMHANS as a Psychiatric Social Worker. Here, she provided direct care to individuals facing various mental health conditions. Dr. Joice has also coordinated programs at the Education and Development Center. She contributed to initiatives supporting vulnerable populations, particularly children and adolescents. Her advocacy for disability rights and education reflects her passion for these areas. She has published two articles focusing on interventions for children with mental health challenges. Her research interests include educational psychology and support strategies for adolescents. Dr. Joice joined Christ University in 2023 and continues her impactful work in the field.
