Dr Jais Merlin P Augustine is an academic specializing in Media and Journalism. She holds two masters degrees and a doctorate in Mass Communication. She completed her doctoral studies at University of Kerala, Trivandrum. Her research focuses on development communication and sustainability studies. She has published widely in national and international academic journals. She has five years experience as news reporter and television anchor. She received Fulbright Hays Public Diplomacy award for climate communication research. She has authored two books on popular science topics. She has published articles in newspapers and magazines extensively. She has contributed to funded projects from national and international agencies. She is associated with organizations in media and communication studies. She has presented over twenty papers at national and international conferences. She joined CHRIST University in 2022 as Assistant Professor. She contributes to teaching, research, and academic development initiatives.
