Dr. Sreeja S. Kartha is an Associate Professor in Physics and Electronics. She is based at the Bangalore Central Campus of Christ University. She completed her PhD at Swinburne University of Technology, Australia. Her doctoral work was conducted at the Centre for Astrophysics and Supercomputing. Her research focuses on galaxy evolution and early-type galaxies. She studies star formation across diverse galactic environments. These include field galaxies, interacting systems, and galaxy clusters. She contributes to the stellar astrophysics research team of the department. She analyzes data from the UVIT instrument aboard AstroSat. Her work examines star-forming properties in evolving galaxy systems. Her team collaborates with international WALLABY and MAUVE research groups. These collaborations integrate HI data with ultraviolet observational datasets. Since 2018, she has secured multiple external research grants. She has served as Principal Investigator and Co-Investigator. She contributed to the department receiving the prestigious DST FIST grant. Her work supports advancement of institutional research infrastructure.
