Department of International Studies and History, CHRIST (Deemed to be University) and United Services Institution of India  (USI), New Delhi  has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on October 20, 2016 to promote joint research and co-education programe on national security. Founded in 1870, United Service Institution of India is the oldest defence research institute in Asia.  USI is managed by the three services of the Indian armed forces- Army, Navy and Air Force. Apart from conducting studies on national security, Armed Forces Historical Research and United Nations Peacekeeping, it organizes strategic studies and simulation on issues of national and international security. USI and Department of International Studies and History are decided to conduct joint seminar and workshop, apart from taking up research projects jointly.  USI also provides 4 weeks training-cum-simulation exercise on national security and strategy for CHRIST (Deemed to be University) interns, and also arranges field trip to National Archives and other strategically important locations in Delhi. 

The exchange of the agreement was facilitated with the presence of Lt Gen (Retd) P. K. Singh, PVSM, AVSM, Director General USI; Maj Gen BK Sharma(Retd), AVSM, SM Deputy Director (Research) and Head Centre for Strategic Studies and Simulation (CS3); and Dr Roshan Khanijo,  Senior Research Fellow & Research Coordinator CS3,  and Father Dr Jose CC, Director,  Department of International Studies and History; and Dr. Joshy M. Paul, Assistant Professor, Department of International Studies and History.
