The department of Life Sciences had organized a guest lecture on the day of inauguration of the postgraduate labs in block II. The resource person was Dr Sreesha P Srinivasa, Associate Vice president of Biocon Ltd, Bangalore. The topic was “ APPLICATIONS OF BIOTECHNOLOGY IN MEDICINE”. Dr Srisha started off with an overview of biomolecules in therapeutics with special mention of anticancer drugs. He dealt at length on the emerging field of cancer immunotherapy.  Dr Srisha also explained about biosimilars and their advantages. Dr Sreesha also touched upon the domains in Pharmaceutical insustries where there are job opportunities for Life Science students. The faculty and students posed a lot of queries to which Dr Shrisha responded in an elaborate and very precise and clear manner. Dr Biljo V Joseph
