Meljo Thomas Karakunnel is a media professional specializing in environmental communication and media freedom. He is an Assistant Professor at Christ University, Bangalore Central Campus, coordinating the MA Media and Communication Studies program. Meljo also leads a team of academics and practitioners training journalists in climate communication. He completed his doctoral studies as a University Grants Commission Junior Research Fellow at the University of Calicut. His thesis focused on the professional freedom and satisfaction of media professionals in Kerala. Meljo has organized major conferences such as the National Mass Communication Research Conference and Media Meet. He has also conducted seminars, workshops, and festivals related to music and millets.
