Jay Rajendra Raythatha, a classical pianist and music educator, specializes in the piano repertoire of the classical and romantic eras. He is an Assistant Professor and Head of Piano at the Department of Western Music, CHRIST University, Bangalore. He holds a Master of Music in Piano Performance and Research from Goldsmiths, University of London, UK. With an engineering background and a passion for music, Jay has performed widely in London and India. His work includes solo piano recitals and performances with the Indian National Youth Orchestra. He has also presented at national and international conferences. Jay is dedicated to raising awareness about the impact of Western music in India. His research focuses on the connections between performance, industry, and academia. As a practice-driven educator, he explores these intersections as opportunities for research and innovation. Jay coordinates the Internal Quality Assessment Cell (IQAC), Placements, and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Cell within his department.
