Community Connect

The Community connect 2023, organised by the Service-Learning Cell and the Department of Sociology and Social Work at CHRIST (Deemed to be University) in Bangalore, was a significant event promoting social engagement and awareness. The Mela featured 26 NGOs, each representing a distinct cause and showcasing their work in various fields.

Event Highlights

The event commenced with the NGOs setting up their stalls and displaying informative posters and banners. Attendees included:

  • Students and faculty members from different departments of the university
  • Participants from other colleges

Visitors learnt about opportunities for service learning, internships, and volunteering.

Representatives provided insights into their core work and raised awareness about their respective causes.

Special Session

A session titled "Role of volunteering organisation in social development opportunities" was held, where:

  • NGO representatives shared their experiences
  • Highlighted the significant contributions made by voluntary organisations
  • Dr. Victor Paul, the HOD of the Department of Sociology and Social Work, delivered a welcome address

The address emphasised the university's commitment to social impact and the transformative role played by young minds.
